My cockatiel is a jerk, so I want another (527)

Hello i just got a 4 year old cockatiel, i gave him a biggger cage since the cage he was in was so tiny he could barley move. He was fine but now hes hissing and lunging at me. Ive had him about a week. He was never handled before and i really want him as a companion. What should i do and how do i do it... Is there hope for us or should i let him go to a more suitable home. I know patience is key but ive never had a under soicalized bird before. Any help would be appricated.
